Mr. Liu Yonghao

Liu Yonghao is Board Chairman of New Hope Group (NHG), President of Hope Group,Vice-Chairman of Committee for Economic Affairs of the CPPCC, Vice-President of China Feed Industry Association( CFIA), President of Western Dairy Development Association.

He is considered to be one of the most outstanding business entrepreneurs in China and the history of NHG is a legend in the fast growing economy of China. Under the inspiration of China’s policy of reform and opening up, Liu set up his business in 1982 and established NHG in 1996, which was the first large non-governmental business group and the biggest feed producer in China. In the past 26 years, Liu has grown the initial $120 investment into more than $1.2 billion assets of NHG, a ten-million-times growth. Liu and his brothers are the richest family in China in the ranking of Forbes. The key of his success can be summarized as sharing value with all stakeholders, restructuring organization and improving corporate governance whenever is necessary and possible, and building solid partnerships with domestic and international institutions. His business thought and innovative spirit have been well received.

Mr. Liu was commended as “Asian Star 2000” by Business Weekly. He has also received “2004 Asia-Pacific Most Creative Chinese Entrepreneurial Leaders Award” and the title of “Ernst&Young Entrepreneur of the Year” in 2007. In 2010, he was elected as one of "50 Emerging Market Business Leaders” by Financial Times.

Singapore is known for its hot and humid weather, with little variation throughout the year. The average daytime temperature is 31ºC (88ºF), dropping to around 24ºC (75ºF) in the evenings. The monsoon season can bear down pretty heavily on our tropical weather from November onwards, so be prepared for rain on a daily basis during this period.

The currency used in Singapore is the Singapore dollar (S$). Money changing services can be found not only at the Singapore Changi Airport but also most shopping centres and hotels around the island. You can also access the automated teller machines (ATMs) located everywhere (even in the most obscure bits) in Singapore, that accept most of the main credit cards such as Visa, MasterCard and American Express.
